Fishing is really off the charts right now. This coming Memorial Day Holiday should be one of our best bites we have seen for a long time during this weekend.
Lakes have really been producing numbers of fish near river mouths or parts of lakes that have warmer water. When you can find just some subtle little temperature changes, you can really increase your odds. Warmer temps will also increase the bite, along with the shiner run just starting.
Northland Fireball jigs tipped with a shiner are the go to combo right now. Many different colors are good this time of year, it really comes down to your confidence in a color. Pick that and stay with it, if it’s not working then try a different color. Rigging shiners can also work as well, especially if the fish seem a little deeper.
Fish seem to be in that 8-10 ft. of water right now on a lot of lakes. With the small sandgrass weeds and warmer water, you should increase your odds greatly these upcoming weeks. Please stay safe during these uneasy times!
