Otter Tail County launches new tourism campaign
(Fergus Falls, Minn.) – Otter Tail County launches its new tourism campaign aimed at matching visitors’ personalities to the unique experiences its communities have to offer.
At the heart of this campaign is an inspirational and enlightened otter who encourages visitors to find one’s “Inner Otter.” The marketing campaign includes billboards, online ads, visitors guide, apparel and an otterly playful personality quiz which can be found at www.findyourinnerotter.com.
“We like to say our little otter is the ‘guru of the getaway,’ the ‘Buddha of the backstroke,’” says Brad Stevens, Otter Tail Country Tourism president. “Our goal is to make visitors feel uniquely welcome, with a bit of otter fun.”
After answering six questions, quiz-takers receive a recommendation for where to stay, play and dine in Otter Tail County based on their personality results.
Nine key Minnesota communities – Battle Lake, Fergus Falls, Henning, New York Mills, Ottertail, Pelican Rapids, Perham, Vergas, and Wadena – supported this effort to increase tourism from the Twin Cities market and I-29 corridor.
“We are excited to show off our communities in this way. Vacationers in this area sometimes overlook our county, not knowing how much we have to offer. If you’re looking for a new experience, Otter Tail County is the place to visit,” says Jean Bowman, Fergus Falls Convention & Visitors Bureau director.
Otter Tail Country Tourism partnered with H2M, an ad agency in Fargo, to create this unique campaign approach. “With other clients in the area, H2M knows our marketplace well.” says Stevens.
“We are excited to work with Otter Tail Country Tourism,” says Dan Altenbernd, H2M COO. “This group is proud of what their communities have to offer and it shows.”
