A time of change

We’re starting to settle into our summer time patterns. Most fish are done spawning and are beginning to make the journey away from their spawning grounds. This can be a tough time to fill the box unless you’re willing to change your approach.
Eyeballs are moving towards their summertime areas. Emerging weeds, points and saddles are great areas to look for walleyes. We’re finding fish in depths from 10ft all the way to 30ft and everywhere in between. Minnows will still turn fish but crawlers and leeches are working great!
Sunfish are still in spawn mode while crappies have finished up and have moved out to new weed growth. Focus on new weeds for crappies and look for the tell tail beds for sunfish. Remember to release those big gills for future stock.
Bass are in post spawn mode. Starting in deeper water and working slow will be key.
Things are changing in lakes country. Don’t be afraid to explore and move away from the crowds.
