Respiratory illnesses on the rise in Minnesota
WADENA, Minn. – Dec. 22, 2022 – Tri-County Health Care is observing an increase in the positivity rate of respiratory illnesses in central Minnesota. High RSV and influenza positivity rates are placing a strain on healthcare systems across the state.
Currently, the local RSV and influenza positivity rate is at 35 percent. These statistics match what is seen at the state level.
The rise in respiratory illness is leading to a decrease in the number of available beds in the state. This lack of beds makes it exceedingly difficult to elevate the level of care in critical scenarios.
Medical staff is asking everyone to take reasonable precautions, including receiving a flu vaccine. Please stay home if you are sick. Try not to interact with those experiencing cold-like symptoms. Avoid crowds and consider wearing a mask while in public.
