Open Mic Returns to the NYM Cultural Center
2 Spring Dates: Thursdays, April 11 & May 9
NEW YORK MILLS, MN, April 8, 2024—The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center is pleased to announce two Spring 2024 Open Mic dates: April 11 and May 9 (the second Thursday of each month), from 6-8 p.m. Open Mic is free to attend and all are invited!
There is a long history of Open Mic Nights at the Cultural Center, though not in recent years. The current staff decided to revive this community program for two months this Spring to gauge interest. Open Mic is scheduled for the second Thursday of April and May 2024, from 6-8 p.m.
All are welcome. Play music, sing, dance, tell jokes, recite poetry – whatever your art form is, we invite you to share it! People are also invited to come and listen. Attendance is free for performers and audience members alike and all are welcome.
Performers can sign up in advance by calling 218-385-3339, but this is not required. You can also just show up this Thursday, April 11 to check it out. Open Mic Artists will perform round-robin style to ensure everyone gets a chance to share their talents.
This activity is made possible in part by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board operating support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
