FERGUS FALLS, MN – High school students thinking about a college art major are invited to a free, day-long workshop with art program faculty members and practicing artists on Sat., April 8, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Kaddatz Galleries.
The Kaddatz and Springboard For the Arts, with support from the Lake Region Arts Council are organizing this event. Students are also invited to bring their work for a pop-up art exhibit during the day, which will be open to the public. Art should be dropped off between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. at the Kaddatz.
The morning panel discussion, “Jump Start Your Art Degree,” from 10:30 a.m.-noon, features faculty members from the art departments of regional colleges and universities. The afternoon panel discussion, “Taking the Next Steps,” from 1-2:30 p.m., will bring in four artists to talk about job opportunities in the arts: Aimee Nordlund, music; Molly Johnston, dance; Sam Norman, visual arts; and Kristofor Gieske, film.
