Fishing Report 6-17-20
Bret Setterholm
Wind? I usually like some wind and get some “walleye chop,” but this is getting a little excessive. The winds have seemed like they have blown for weeks straight! Hopefully the weather will straighten out in the days to come.
The good news is lakes have really been producing numbers of fish in all depths. It seems like the fish have been transitioning from shallow to mid lake structures. Shallow would be the depths of 8-10 ft in the sand grass. Shorebreaks 12-17 ft have been consistent as well. Points and inside turns have been holding fish. The mid-lake humps are just starting to see good numbers of fish also.
Northland Fireball jigs tipped with a sucker minnow is a good bait for shallow water fishing. Using a Roach Rig with a leech or crawler has been producing on the shorebreaks. Mid-lake structure rigs and Rapala jigging raps have been working well.
Using your Lowrance structure scan is an awesome tool for finding fish. This technology has become one of the best tools to find fish out beyond the boat on each side. If you are not familiar with this technology, Youtube has numerous videos on this. If you would like more info please stop in at Ray’s Sport and Marine and they can “hook” you up!
Stay safe!
