Mead making dates to 7,000 BCE and is thought to be the world’s oldest alcoholic beverage.
According to Viking legend, mead originated when two warring factions signed a peace treaty and spit into a bowl to seal the agreement.
It is made by fermenting honey mixed with water, yeast, and sometimes, added ingredients such as fruits, spices, grains, or hops.
This course will explore basic mead making practices and will help you on your journey to creating your very first mead: Joe’s Ancient Orange Mead. (No Spitting Allowed)
It is recommended that students have a basic understanding of the fermentation process, but it is not required.
This course is intended for the home fermentation hobbyist and to take your mead making skills to the next level.
