Celebration of the Civil War Museum at the Prospect House
Celebration of the Civil War Museum at the Prospect House
Battle Lake, Minn – July 29 – We couldn’t have asked for a better day – authentic education in the form of displays and costumes as well as demonstration to our visitors about the procedure that took place in the Civil War when the cannon was fired. It was not about noise that day but gathering and learning, enjoying food (Williams Company) and period music (Bob & Gail Johnson and Deb Warwick).
We were very proud to introduce the recently remodeled Civil War Museum. Many not only toured the Civil War Museum but the whole Prospect House and went away very excited about this legacy left to entertain and educate all who come together on it’s grounds.
What a wonderful day to embrace our community, and the learning experiences brought to us by the professional and authentic reenactment group, 2nd MN Battery Light Artillery!

Some Feedback We Received:
“We had an enjoyable experience last weekend. We were able to pass on our knowledge to quite a crowd of people. We did notice that there were fewer people there this year as opposed to last year. Mosquitos moved on to another location. We never did see the Fire Marshall. He was to look at the charges we had for demonstrations. The only glitch we encountered was the Firing times as your schedule did not correspond to the news article printed before-hand. We compensated for that by pulling a primer —- and only got a pop.”
