Tri-County Health Care breaks ground on $72 million facility
On May 21, members of Tri-County Health Care staff and several guests gathered for groundbreaking. After months of planning the event, Joel Beiswenger, President & CEO of Tri-County Health Care, kicked off the proceedings. Beiswenger took this time to describe the project, detailing the highs and lows associated with planning.
“The recipe for this has been creativity and passion for the people involved, a lot of intelligence and wisdom, a fair amount of stress, some hand-wringing and sleepless nights,” said Beiswenger during his opening address. “But I’d say above and beyond anything else, a lot of courage for people to step out and take some risk to make this happen.” He also thanked staff for their perseverance throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
John Poston, Minnesota District 9A State Representative, congratulated Tri-County Health Care on its handling of the new building project. He was impressed with the design and architecture of the new facility, citing its focus on patient care. “It’s so efficient and patient-centered; it’s going to be a big step up in health care for everybody in this area,” explained Poston. “It’s also going to be a big step up for jobs in the area and be a good economic engine in the area.”
A small group of people attended the groundbreaking. At the current facility, staff members watched while the construction of their new hospital and clinic officially began.
The recording of the groundbreaking and regular updates on the building project can be found at TCHC.org/build2023. The new facility has an anticipated completion of spring 2023.
