Surge and the Swell Concert February 25 in NYM
Original Americana/Indie-folk Music at the Cultural Center
NEW YORK MILLS, MN, February 21, 2023—The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center’s 2023 Concert Series continues with Surge and the Swell on Saturday, February 25th at 7:30 p.m. All are invited!
Surge and the Swell is the solo and collaboration vehicle of Minnesota-based, Americana and Indie-folk, singer-songwriter Aaron Cabbage. Born in Kentucky, raised in Southeast Texas via Indiana, and now calling Minnesota home, his influences run North to South.
The title track of his initial EP “Love 4000” is a timely anthem to long-distance relationships in the era of technology-enabled romance and more recently, the pandemic travel restrictions. Other songs on the debut EP deal with fresh starts, mindfulness, and first sparks.
Cabbage is comfortable both on a big stage celebrating outdoor music and in more intimate settings with an acoustic guitar. He is especially excited to make his Otter Tail County debut this Saturday night in the Cultural Center’s intimate listening-room-style concert space. All are welcome!
Adult tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door ($2 member discount); students $5. Cash bar and light refreshments available. You can buy tickets online, call the Cultural Center at 218-385-3339, or get tickets at the door. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and music begins at 7:30.
This activity is made possible in part by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board operating support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
