See Sandra Barnhouse's New Abstract Work At Kaddatz Gallery
Kaddatz Galleries hosts Barnhouse’s abstract work
FERGUS FALLS, MN – The Kaddatz Galleries will host an artist’s reception for Sandra Barnhouse on Thursday, June 1 from 4-7 p.m. to celebrate her new show, “Sociology.” The exhibit will run through Sat., July 1.
Her new show features abstract paintings, a departure from the realism and landscape she normally pursues. In the past, she engaged in abstract work as an academic exercise, feeling let down by how easy and empty it felt.
“This time it’s different,” she said. “These geometric shapes contain the elements of human behavior and its evolution. They are the DNA of human interaction. They represent a recognizable pattern in the evolution of what we’ve become and what we may become.”
Barnhouse has a degree in art education from the University of Northern Colorado and a master’s in painting and printmaking from St. Cloud State University. She lives in Underwood.
The Kaddatz Galleries’ mission is to foster visual arts education and appreciation, and to maintain a gallery that celebrates the work of area artists and honors the legacy of Charles Beck. For more information, call 218-998-4405 or visit kaddatzgalleries.org. The gallery is in downtown Fergus Falls, 111 W. Lincoln Ave.
