Fall is a great time to get away from it all. The hustle and bustle of summer slows to a more peaceful pace. Getting in that last minute vacation is a little easier as area resorts are a little less busy. If you are looking to go on an autumn adventure here is a list of some places to stay this fall.

Whistlestop Bed & Breakfast

Resorts
Northern Lights Resort
Dead Lake is nearly 8,000 acres and is largely undeveloped. This makes Northern Lights Resort a great place to absorb all the fall colors you can handle. They offer 25% off their summer rates during the fall and spring with additional specials during the winter. They have a few open cabins, as well as several campsites, available yet this September. Sunset Bay Resort
September can offer some of the best sunsets of the year. Few places offer a better place to take in a sunset than Sunset Bay Resort. While most of the resort closes on October 1st, Cabins 8 and House on the Hill open all year long.
Cabin 8 rents for $200 per night or $1000 per week for up to 8 people. House on the Hill rents for $250 per night or $1,250 per week for up to 8 people. Vacationland Resort
If you are interested in catching some walleyes this fall, Otter Tail Lake is probably your best bet. Vacationland Resort caters to anglers all year long. Barky’s Resort
Located on the west shores of Otter Tail Lake, Barky’s Resort offers some of the best sunrises in the county. You can also experience an awesome sunset while you reel in some fall walleyes. Barky’s is another resort that caters to anglers. Their fish cleaning shack is modern, clean and heated all year long. Holly’s Resort

We recently visited Swan Lake Resort and we were impressed. New owners Anna & Thomas have worked hard to create a beautiful and welcoming environment. Their season ends October 1st, but they have openings in September.
