#FindYourInnerOtter campaign has new vehicle
Fergus Falls, MN—June 15, 2017— Otter Tail Lakes Country Association and Otter Tail County have taken their marketing efforts to a mobile level – and we’re not talking about phones!
A 2017 Ford Escape, wrapped with the “Find Your Inner Otter” branding can now be seen on the roads! The “Otter Mobile” is part of a mission to get the word out that Otter Tail County is a great place to PLAY, STAY, DINE, LIVE & WORK. “We’re taking workforce recruitment seriously. If you want to move to Otter Tail County, we’ll pick you up.” said Nick Leonard, Director of Tourism and Economic Development for Otter Tail County. “One of our area’s greatest assets is the rolling countryside, winding roads and lush green highways. You can live anywhere within the county and enjoy a relaxing commute to a number of jobs. The Otter Mobile is a symbol of the lifestyle one can enjoy here.”
Another reason for the mobile marketing effort is the need build brand awareness outside of Otter Tail County. The vehicle will be used for road trips to job fairs, college visits, conferences, expos and other events. Leonard recently took the Otter Mobile to the Twin Cities for a meeting with the Governor’s Tourism Council. “We turned quite a few heads on the highway.” added Leonard. Many community partners have even begun reserving the Otter Mobile for parades, festivals and other local celebrations.
The vehicle has even become part of OTLCA’s social media strategy. “The hope is that people will see the vehicle, snap a quick selfie with it, and post their photos to various social media platforms using the hashtag #FindYourInnerOtter” said Erik Osberg, Rural Rebound Initiative Coordinator for Otter Tail County. To kick off the efforts, Otter Tail Lakes Country Association recently used the Otter Mobile as the catalyst for an Instagram Takeover. Nationally recognized travel bloggers, Jenna and Micah Kvidt, recently returned home to showcase beautiful Otter Tail County on multiple social media platforms.
“We want Otter Tail County to be top-of-mind when folks are looking for a place to relocate to get to a more enjoyable pace of life.” Osberg went on to say, “There’s so much to see and do here! We believe it’s a shame to keep this gem hidden. There’s a ton of opportunity to work here, plus affordable housing and a sense of community that is hard to match.”
Funding for the vehicle purchase was made possible through grants from West Central Initiative, Blandin Foundation, Otto Breamer Foundation and the Veden Trust.
