Big Pine Lake is located in NE Otter Tail County, MN about 3 miles east of Perham. Big Pine Lake is roughly 4,700 acres and has a maximum depth of 76 feet. There are three public access on Big Pine Lake. Two are concrete, one is a “carry in” access. One access is on the east end of the lake off county road 53. The other is known as Grand View Heights and is on the western shore closer to town. The “carry in” access is on the north shore where the Toad River flows into the lake. Big Pine Lake is a popular choice for anglers and water recreation enthusiasts. You can catch walleye, northern pike, largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, burbot, freshwater drum & more in Big Pine. Check your MN DNR regulation books. There is a slot limit for walleye on this lake. All walleye 18-26 inches must be released. The Otter Tail River inlet is located along the northwest shoreline while the outlet is located along the west shoreline of the lake.
