Kaddatz Galleries Hosts New Work By Charles Beck
Kaddatz Galleries Hosts New Charles Beck Show
FERGUS FALLS, MN – Charles Beck will show his new work July 1-31 at the Kaddatz Galleries in StudioK, with an artist reception Tuesday, July 11 from 3-6 p.m.
Titled “C. Beck: New Work,” the display will include his new style with a hint of the woodcutting for which he became so well known.
This is Beck’s second gallery show since health issues forced him to stop carving and printing woodcuts. He now uses acrylic paint and ink to make nature come alive on his canvas. His latest paintings, completed since summer of 2016, include images of stunning sunsets, snowfalls and lone trees with blazing colors. Many recent works also include his signature trees, some done with ink pen. These landscapes resemble the depth and texture found in his woodcuts.
He draws inspiration mostly from memory nowadays, with some recent sightings also influencing his work, such as a “super moon” over Underwood in November 2016.
Beck paints every day, motivated by unfinished paintings. Artwork keeps him going, he says, and coming up with subject material and his creativity give him energy. In this new show, viewers will see images of his past work but also a new dimension inspired by nature.
