Headstones and Art Workshop October 10th in NYM
New York Mills, MN—October 7, 2020—The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center is pleased to present a Headstones and Art Workshop outdoors this Saturday, October 10th at 10am-noon at Greenwood Cemetery in New York Mills. Join us at the cemetery for some hands-on, lifelong learning in the arts! .
This workshop will be about the symbolism found on headstones. Cultural Center Programs Director Cheryl Bannes will present information on the meanings behind the decorations found on headstones. We will then learn about doing rubbings on the stones then spend some time doing headstone rubbings.
As we will be outdoors, please dress for the weather. Class will be postponed if there is heavy rain or snow. We will be following COVID-19 guidelines. Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms (cough, fever, shortness of breath, etc.) should not attend.
Class will be limited to 12 (minimum must also be met in order to hold the workshop). All supplies will be provided. $10 per person. Pre-registration required; please call 218-385-3339 or email [email protected] with questions.
