Explorer Will Steger and storyteller Kevin Kling headline West Central Initiative’s annual meeting
Explorer Will Steger and storyteller Kevin Kling headline West Central Initiative’s annual meeting Wednesday night, Nov. 4
The event, dubbed What We Go Through, We Grow Through, will be conducted via ZOOM. Those wishing to attend or find out more should pre-register at www.wcif.org/2020fun.html.
“We are so thrilled to have Will Steger talk to us about his first-hand experience with global warming and changes he’s seen in our environment,” says Rebecca Petersen, director of development at WCI. “Kevin Kling was a great hit at last year’s meeting in Ottertail, so he’s coming back as our host. He and Will are sure to provide a fun and informative respite from the elections the day before.”
Pet owners in the region are also invited to be part of the festivities for a virtual pet parade prior to the presentation. The evening “social hour” begins at 6:30 with images of people and their pets, some video clips and music by folk musician Chuck Suchy, who will also perform live during the evening. Rick Schara, the Live Wide Open coordinator, is collecting images and would welcome photos at [email protected]. The official program starts at 7 p.m.
The event also offers a chance for people to support the work of WCI through a donation and those doing so will receive a “pet package” thank you gift.
Slated to appear during the night is WCI Board President Mark Helland, WCI President Anna Wasescha and Petersen. There is no cost to attend thanks to sponsors Service Food of Fergus Falls, OpGo Marketing of Fargo and AMS Digital Marketing of Alexandria.
