Opening Reception – Naomi RaMona Schliesman: Heilung Saaám (Healing Medicine) Thursday, July 10, 2025 | 5-7 PM Kaddatz Galleries – Charles Beck Gallery Free and Open to the Public of All Ages Please join us for the opening reception of “Heilung Saaám (Healing Medicine)”, a dynamic installation by award-winning interdisciplinary artist Naomi RaMona Schliesman.

This exhibition will be on view in the Charles Beck Gallery from July 8 – August 16, 2025. About the Exhibition (in the Artist’s own words): “This body of work explores healing through sensory experience and personal narrative. Rooted in my own journey of self-healing and motherhood, the installation invites viewers into a space where art becomes a form of medicine—engaging sight, touch, sound, and vibration to reconnect body and environment. Combining vibrant color, bold textures, and diverse materials like wood, fiber, plaster, and paint, I create immersive environments that are both playful and contemplative. My work challenges the boundaries between hard and soft, internal and external, domestic and institutional—encouraging physical and emotional engagement.

This installation asks: How do we care for ourselves? How do we heal through our senses and surroundings? By creating spaces that invite curiosity and reflection, I aim to show how art can support connection, comfort, and the complex process of healing.” About the Artist: Naomi RaMona Schliesman is an award-winning interdisciplinary artist with over 20 years of experience of exhibiting her work in New York, Chicago, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Pittsburgh, Brooklyn, Seattle, and throughout the Midwest. She holds an MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has been recognized with prestigious fellowships from Ragdale and Kimmel Hardening Nelson Center for the Arts. Deeply connected to our community, Schliesman served as Artist Development Director for rural programming at Springboard for the Arts in Fergus Falls, MN from 2013 to 2020, and currently works as a teaching artist for Kaddatz Galleries and Gallery Curator at Lake Region Legion Arts Council.

Her artistic exploration delves into “monolithic concepts such as environment, religion, healing, and death, questioning the opacity of these themes through cultural and personal lenses.” Through her installations, she invites viewers to “step into an immersive experience” that encourages “reflection on the complexities of the human experience and the healing process.”
