The Panfish Are Plumping Up!

I am still finding both bluegills and crappies schooled up over deeper water that are eager to bite. A lot of times they will be suspended over this deep water so electronics are key. These are the times I bring my Vexilar along and drop it right over the side of the boat.
Anther thing I’ve found going on right now is a really strong shallow water bite. If your lake has a strong weed edge that is still holding some green weeds, it wouldn’t hurt to try it. These fish will hug tight to any remaining weeds and, again, will be eager to bite. No matter where these fish are located, they are looking to put the feedbag on before the Ice comes.
This is a great time of year to be on the water – just don’t forget to dress warm as the temperatures begin to drop!
