Perham Magic of the Holidays
It’s surely no surprise that a city surrounded by evergreen trees and so near to places like Big Pine Lake has perfected holiday celebrations. The municipality of Perham offers a stocking full of magical ways to honor the festive season in December. They encourage everyone to Make Perham your Home for the Holidays from Black Friday through New Year’s Eve.
Everything kicks off the Friday after Thanksgiving. Shoppers will find a variety of charming and unique stores and enjoy the old-fashioned storefront decorating contest. And what could be more fun than finding the perfect present? The Perham Chamber of Commerce Holiday Dollars promotion rewards buyers. For dollars spent in Perham businesses, shoppers receive a stamp to fill out their shopper card. Completed cards are eligible for drawings with prizes valued at over $3,000!

Black Friday bargain hunters can then refuel at the many fabulous Perham eateries before heading downtown for the annual Parade of Lights. Dazzling lighted floats and vehicles wind their way through the city streets before heading out to the Pioneer Village, home to the popular Light in the Pines, now a Perham tradition. Presented by Scouts Troop 321 and Arvig as well as many other community partners, this incredible walk-through light display includes Santa, visits from the Grinch, campfires, marshmallows for toasting, and hot beverages, “joining together to bring you Christmas spirit.”

Perham has made every effort to see the magic of Christmas through the eyes of children. Magical holiday experiences throughout the month of December include: horse drawn carriage rides, bowling and roller skating with the Grinch, hayrides, free movie matinees at the Comet Theater and kids shopping days with specialty vendors. Even furry family members can join in the fun taking pet pics with Santa.

Perham is positively glowing with the magic of the holidays!
