Larry Long & Fiddlin’ Pete 2024 Reunion Tour Coming to New York Mills
Live Music @ NYMRCC Saturday, October 19, 2024
NEW YORK MILLS, MN, October 10, 2024—The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center’s Fall 2024 Concert Series continues with Larry Long & Fiddlin’ Pete on Saturday, October 19 at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome!

The Cultural Center is thrilled to present this special night of music featuring the legendary duo Larry Long & Fiddlin’ Pete Watercott, bassist Larry Dalton, as part of their 2024 Reunion Tour.
Larry Long and Fiddlin’ Pete Watercott’s friendship and musical collaborations are the stuff of legends. In their early twenties, they hitchhiked and hopped freight trains across the American West, playing music in small-town bars and leaving songs behind for their hosts. Their travels and experiences helped shape their unique sound—a blend of lyrical ballads, country-swing, and old-time fiddle tunes that recall the American song traditions of Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, and Bob Wills.
Now, 50 years later, Larry and Pete are reuniting on tour alongside bassist Larry Dalton to celebrate their musical journey. As a trio, they will bring an unforgettable evening of storytelling, virtuosic performances, and a true celebration of Americana roots music to the Cultural Center audience.
In conjunction with their reunion tour, Larry Long & Fiddlin’ Pete are excited to release their new live acoustic recording, As In Those Early Days. This album was recorded along the scenic banks of the Mississippi River and captures the essence of their decades-long friendship and musical evolution. CDs will be available for purchase at the concert.
All three musicians have enjoyed remarkable solo careers. Larry Long, a “true American Troubadour” according to Studs Terkel, has written hundreds of ballads and worked with communities across the United States, while also releasing numerous albums, including two on Smithsonian Folkways. Fiddlin’ Pete, a musical favorite in the mountains of California, continues to delight audiences with his versatility, whether performing cowboy poetry, classical violin, or sawing on his fiddle. Larry Dalton has been performing and recording with bluegrass, jazz, rock, rockabilly, gypsy jazz, big band, and orchestral groups.
Tickets for the concert are available for $12 in advance or $15 at the door. Members receive a $2 discount, and student tickets are just $5. Light refreshments and a cash bar will be available throughout the evening.
Don’t miss the chance to experience this special reunion concert in the intimate listening-room gallery of the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center. Purchase your tickets online or at the door. Doors open at 7:00 PM, and the music starts at 7:30 PM.
