Hungry Fish
Fishing report for Otter Tail County, MN
By Radin Olson, Lock Jaw Guide Service
With summer in full force now that means two things, bug hatches and moving fish. If you’re willing to put the work in there’s plenty of hungry fish to catch.

Eyeballs will be in the mud chasing bugs BUT there’s always fish in the weeds and rocks it just might take some searching to find them. Spinners, cranks, bottom bouncers are a go to this time. Just keep moving and don’t get hung up on one area.
Crappies have been mostly suspended over deep water feasting on bugs. These fish are easy to find with electronics and will eat about anything you can get in front of them. There are fish on weedlines but you will have to cover water.
The bigger bass have been showing up under cover of docks and overhanging trees. Frogs, spooks, and spinner baits have been my go to.
The muskie bite has been pretty good! The warm water has a lot of fish back in the cabbage and ready to go. Bucktails and tubes are working well.

The patterns will stabilize shortly but for now keep that boat moving and cover water! For additional tips visit https://ottertaillakescountry.com/interactive-map/?fwp_place_categories=fishing-hunting.
