Global Multi-Instrumentalist Todd Green March 14 in NYM

The Cultural Center in New York Mills is pleased to present world music with Todd Green on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at the New York Mills School Auditorium. Thanks to grant support, tickets are just $5 for adults and students attend free!

Global Multi-Instrumentalist Todd Green performs original music on over 30 acoustic string, flute and percussion instruments from all over the world. Todd is inspired by many different cultures in the Middle East, Central Asia, Far East and South America. His custom-built electronic system allows him to layer instruments as he performs, which in effect turns him into a high-tech one-man-band of World Music. 

Todd’s artistic mission is to “help bring down the barriers that divide us by experiencing other cultures through their music” as he takes his audiences on a musical armchair-tour of the world. 

Todd will spend a week on residency in New York Mills. During this time, he will give interactive presentations to students in the New York Mills and Perham Schools, as well as clients from Productive Alternatives in Perham. 
To enhance the experience for our local students, the New York Mills 4th graders will spend a little extra time with Todd during the week, and will then be invited to participate in his final song at the public concert on March 14. The hope is for many 4th graders and their families to attend.

This activity is made possible in part by a grant from the Lake Region Arts Council with funds appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature.  This engagement is also supported by the Arts Midwest Touring Fund, a program of Arts Midwest that is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional contributions from the Minnesota State Arts Board and the Crane Group.

All are invited to this all-ages live music event on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. in the New York Mills School Auditorium. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.  As part of our 30th anniversary in 2020 and celebrating a “Year of Gratitude” for our supportive community, and thanks to grant support, adult tickets are just $5 and students are FREE! A free will donation will also be accepted to support more live music.
