Fishing Report 6-30-20

It’s go time!
Fishing in Otter Tail Lakes Country is HOT right now. Multiple patterns are producing fish. We are in the full summer swing!

Walleyes
Eyeballs can be found in the usual summertime spots. Sunken humps, points, inside corners, and deep saddles have been my top producers as of late. Bottom bouncers and slow death rigs have been the top presentation. A good rule of thumb for bouncer weight is an ounce for every 10ft. Puppet minnows are another great option that let you dissect a spot and find the active pod. Depth will vary throughout the day.

Crappies
Crappies are well established in the ever growing cabbage beds. Trolling a thumper jig over the weeds is a deadly tactic to both eliminate dead water and trigger the fish to strike.
Muskies are still split between emerging weed beds and suspended over open water. Bucktails have been best at triggering fish while trolling is also producing.
The weather is hot and so is the fishing! Stay safe and tight lines!
