Fair Hills March Newsletter
Weather Report
First week of March was in like a lamb. It was 51 degrees on Monday, March 3rd. Which is just mind boggling. Then it quickly dropped back into the 20’s with flurries and WIND.
For the rest of the month we waffled between 20 & 50 degrees, enjoying lovely spring weather on the weekdays and dropping back into winter with cold temps and snow on the weekends. The back and forth is a bit intense but we are keeping our eyes on the horizon as summer is coming!
The forecast is bright enought that we expect to be able to open Wildflower in early April. It’s a great year when we can get golfers on the course in April, especially early April. The lack of snow coverage is making this forecast possible! Hope for sun and rising temperatures for us please!
Time To Guess…Ice Off Dates!
With the bright forecast, it is time to make your annual guess, when will the ice go off Pelican Lake and Lake Five.
You have two chances to win! Get your guess in early, if the winning date has multiple correct guesses, the person who submitted the correct guess first will be the 1st place grand winner!
1st Place: a Fair Hills bag of swag
Tied Runner Ups (correct date, not first): a Fair Hills sticker pack
One entry (one guess per lake) per person please.
Entry due date is Wednesday, April 2nd by end of work day (5pm CT.)

Meet Glady
In this series, we will be introducing the year round staff. Learn more about the wonderful people that help create the Fair Hills magic.
Meet Gavin
Gavin Mickelson joins the staff in the Spring of 2025 as our Pro Shop Coordinator. He had spent the last 12 years at Blueberry Pines Golf Course near Park Rapids, Minnesota. Gavin was promoted to Pro Shop Coordinator at Blueberry Pines in 2017 and held that position for eight years before joining us this Spring. Gavin has a deep golf background, having played five years of competitive golf for Menahga high school and spending most every day throughout his teenage summers at the golf course.
Gavin grew up in Menahga, Minnesota and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Finance from Bemidji State University. Gavin is joining us to continue to make your experience at Wildflower top notch and will work with Emily and the rest of the staff to continue to make Wildflower better everyday. When not at the golf course, Gavin will most likely be found fishing, playing golf, or spending time with family. Make sure to stop by the Wildflower Pro Shop this year and say hello!
