Deep Weeds is where they are at

Weedline everything! Not finding bluegills on spawning beds anymore so it’s time for me to move out to those deep weed edges, for EVERYTHING. Took the family bass fishing yesterday and found good numbers all spread along the deep weeds. We kept the boat in 12-15′ and caught them on Senko worms, chatterbaits, jigs, jig worms, square bill crankbaits, it was the definition of junk fishing and we had a blast.

The crappies have also moved out to deep cabbage. This is a great time of year to try trolling for them. A small plastic minnow bait or tube jig trolled slowly at around 1 mph will help you locate the schools and once found you can switch to casting to them. Walleyes are utilizing those deep weed edges as well as points, humps and inside turns.
This week’s cool down didn’t seem to shut the fish down at all and its made it much more comfortable to be out in the boat. Still have some availability for guided fishing in July and August if you’d like to get out.
