Daddy in Afghanistan Connects Virtually to See his New Year Baby Born at LRH

Danielle and Dustin Olsen of Elbow Lake, MN are looking forward to a positive start to their New Year as they welcomed baby boy, Everett Daniel into their family. After a surprisingly quick delivery, Everett was born January 7th 2021 at 8:19 a.m. and weighing in at a perfect 6lbs., 4oz. and 19 inches long.

Proud Dad Dustin, who has been deployed to Afghanistan since August and currently in active duty was just in time to see the delivery through the WhatsApp. They are thankful for modern technology that was able to bring mom and dad together for this special moment. Danielle wasn’t without on-hand support as her sister-in-law, Robin was there for delivery as well.

A neat twist to the story is that Danielle’s doctor, Dr. Dustin Sperr, was also a New Year’s Baby when he was born. Danielle explains that the family is very excited about this New Year’s addition to their family and is looking forward to introducing Everett to his siblings, Kayle (age 15), Will (age 8), and Audrey (age 6), saying, “Everett will be getting many snuggles, hugs and love from his proud siblings.”
