The Sprout Scoop: Tips Edition
What’s the difference between “mobile-friendly” and “responsive”?
Responsive Website
- Definition: A responsive website automatically adjusts its layout, content, and images to fit different screen sizes and orientations (desktop, tablet, mobile).
- Focus: The design structure — making sure elements shrink, grow, or rearrange smoothly to maintain readability and usability across devices.
Mobile-Friendly Website
- Definition: A mobile-friendly website ensures that the experience itself is optimized for smaller screens, beyond just adjusting layout.
- Focus: The usability — fast load times, tap-friendly buttons, simplified navigation, readable text, and content that feels natural for mobile users.

Workplace / Project Manager
At CYBERsprout, I wear two hats—as a Project Manager and as the Director of Workplace Development—where I juggle tasks with the precision of a circus performer (minus the lions). My career path has taken a winding route, with stops in restaurant operations management and a stint in tech project management at Gallup in Omaha, Nebraska.
When I’m not at my computer, you’ll find me hitting the trail system for a good run or bike ride, always with my trusty sidekick Brooke—a Border Collie/Black Lab mix who shares my love for outdoor adventures and a well-earned nap

This Session: Ensuring Your Website is Mobile Friendly and Responsive
In this kickoff episode, the CYBERsprout team tackles a question we hear all the time: “Is my website mobile friendly and responsive?” With nearly two-thirds of all web traffic happening on mobile devices, the answer can make or break a website’s effectiveness.
We explain the key differences between being responsive (layouts adjusting to screen size) and mobile-friendly (ensuring a great experience for users on smaller devices). The team walks through how to test responsiveness using your own browser, mobile device, or free online tools.
