Changing of the seasons
Game fish in lakes country will close this coming weekend, but that doesn’t mean it’s the end of ice season! Panfish, eelpout, tullibee are a few of the options that are still open.
With the warming trend that we are in, the bite will heat up in the shallow water for panfish. You can expect them to be roaming in large schools in remaining weed beds. Don’t be afraid to look really really REALLY shallow! Now is the time to give that auger a workout and move, move, move!
Tullibee will be schooling up in deep holes and will provide great fishing until ice out. Dropper rigs are a proven way to trick them.
Reminder that houses need to be off the lake March 1st so this weekend may be your last in a sleeper shack!
Late ice can be more dangerous than early ice so stay safe and bring a friend. Things are changing and spring is right around the corner!
