Heart of Lakes Country
Battle Lake is a thriving community wrapped around the western edge of West Battle Lake in Central Minnesota’s “lakes country.” Consequently, the city’s population of 875 swells in the summer as visitors and tourists come to the lake and “snowbirds” return home. Year-round this small town welcomes all and offers many amenities for locals and visitors alike. Without a doubt, visit to see for yourself.
The City of Battle Lake is located just north of the intersection of State Highways 78 and 210. The city features unique shops, eateries, parks and resorts as well as events. Furthermore, enjoy summer cabins to lake homes, fall festivals to fish fries, parades to parks, arts and craft shows to floral, gift, ice cream, coffee and tea shops, walleye tournaments to turtle races. The arts scene is very much alive in this community as well. Besides being home of Glendalough State Park, Battle Lake has something to offer every one of every age in every season. In addition to the state park, lakes and trails, the outdoors is a big part of the community. In 2018, the City became a bronze level Bicycle Friendly Community as awarded by the League of American Bicyclists. Particularly, this designation recognizes the work the community has done to provide a great bicycling experience.
