Art for Lunch Again: Yum!
Art for Lunch Again: Yum!
New Program Continues at Center
After the success of February’s Mardi Gras Masks, the Cultural Center has the answer for your tired ol’ lunch routines: a new monthly program open to all! Art For Lunch continues with its second installment on Thursday, March 1, from noon to 1:00 p.m.
Each month, on the first Thursday of the month, a new art project is facilitated by Center Education and Outreach Coordinator, Cheryl Bannes. All activities are 45 minutes long so as to be completed over a lunch period.
The continuing spring schedule for Art For Lunch is as follows:
March 1: Fabric Basket – Quickly and easily make a beautiful basket out of simple materials and fabric.
April 5: Bead & Brass Wire Brooches – Make a one-of-a-kind wire pin for yourself or as a gift.
May 3: Paper Birds – Watercolor materials, scissors, and glue is all it takes to make cute 3D birds to hang in your window for spring!
Participants bring their own lunch, but beverages are provided by the Center. A $3 fee is charged to help cover the cost of supplies. Registration is encouraged.

The Cultural Center in New York Mills is a rural hub for creativity, community vitality, and lifelong learning in the arts. We offer visitors intimate opportunities to encounter art and artists in our 80-seat concert listening room, two galleries in a historic building, a gift store featuring local artists, an artist residency program, a sculpture park, and a variety of opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive. Since our incorporation in 1990, we have been passionate about connecting people to artists and rich cultural experiences in rural Minnesota, celebrating the local and being a window to the world.
