Bike MS TRAM returns to Fergus Falls – your help is needed

Once again, The National MS Society selected Fergus Falls as one of the Bike MS Ride across Minnesota cities this summer. This is the fifth time, and it speaks volumes about the hospitality and teamwork this community provides.
    This five-day tour event by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, MN Chapter raises funds for MS and allows Fergus Falls to show off our town to 300 bicyclists and their “groupies.”

Fergus Falls hosted in 2007, 2010, 2012, and 2016; local businesses and residents certainly felt the impact of hundreds of extra people in town. The City and Visit Fergus Falls serve as co-hosts and work hard to ensure these guests have an even better experience. The date TRAM participants arrive in Fergus Falls is Monday, July 24. This letter provides some basic information and asks for your financial support for this community-wide event.

Hotels are already filling, and the event plans are coming together. Many of the cyclists will be camping at Kirkbride Park. Visit Fergus Falls is at the point where they need to reach out to community leaders and businesses and ask for financial support for this project. The steering committee has developed a budget draft that requires nearly $7,000 if we are going to do this event properly and make a lasting positive impression on our guests. If it falls short of our goal, the job will get done, but in a much less memorable manner. Budgeted items include security, a shuttle system, entertainment, signs, power/generators, first aid, tents, sanitation, postage, etc.

Sponsor benefits: Listing in promotions, including website and social media. Businesses that donate $500 or more can hang banners in the park. Besides tangible benefits, we encourage your support for the attention this will bring to our community and the cause of helping fight MS. We reward the bicyclists (who each raise a minimum of $300 to participate in this cause) by providing a WOW experience. Ride participants are in their 40’s- 50s, have high discretionary income, and are college-educated. They are loyal to MS, its ride communities, and our partners.
