Tri-County Health Care celebrates with ceremony of keys
WADENA, Minn. – Jan. 20, 2023 – Tri-County Health Care (Astera Health) celebrated the
completion of all major construction projects with a passing of the keys ceremony. On Jan. 19, 2023, staff members, board members, and construction representatives gathered in the atrium of the new Astera Health Campus to share thoughts of closure and hope as the team prepares to transition to the new building.
President and CEO Joel Beiswenger began the ceremony by sharing his thoughts about the hardships endured throughout the construction process, including the COVID-19 pandemic and numerous supply chain issues. “This has literally been a task of 1,000 folks
plus,” remarked Beiswenger.
Beiswenger was followed by Ryan Anderson, chairperson for the board of directors at Tri-County Health Care, and Amanda Kimber, surgical technician and staff representative. The pair expressed gratitude and excitement for the new facility. Kimber was especially excited about the new building, stating that the surgical team has used every inch of space in their current surgical suite.
Lastly, the program concluded with Jessica Deitner, project manager at Mortenson, who gave an emotional address that included many details of the 20-month construction process. She spoke of the numerous obstacles the team overcame to construct the new building and expressed sadness that her time working with Tri-County Health Care was ending.
The ceremony ended with a passing of the keys from Deitner to Beiswenger and the other presenters. A grand opening celebration for the community is set for March 18 from 12-4 p.m. Learn more about the event and the new Astera Health campus at TCHC.org/Astera.
