Tri-County Health Care Dedicates New Ambulance
Tri-County Health Care celebrated the addition of a new ambulance to its emergency medical services (EMS) fleet with a dedication and blessing on Monday, Aug. 21. EMS personnel and administration members attended the dedication.
Manufactured by American Emergency Vehicles, the new ambulance features a custom design and was sold to Tri-County through Premiere Specialty Vehicles of Fergus Falls. The new ambulance replaces an existing ambulance that reached more than 245,000 miles.
“Ambulances are places for a lot of different emotions,” said Mike Ittner, EMS supervisor. “There’s happiness, sadness, hopefulness and fear. We realize that people are apprehensive when we arrive. High-quality equipment, good training and professionalism from our staff remain the gold standard of service to our community. I hope when you see the ambulance arriving, your fears and apprehension is relieved somewhat.”
Noel Rich, a retired priest from St. Helen’s Episcopal Church in Wadena, provided a blessing for the hospital staff and ambulance EMS crews who will operate and work in the vehicle.
“We take our responsibilities of the life-saving capabilities of our EMS service seriously,” said Tri-County President/CEO Joel Beiswenger. “We are committed to maintaining the highest level of capability, technology and equipment such as this ambulance, paired with great people and local and regional partnerships.”
Tri-County also looks forward to the arrival of a second new ambulance, estimated to arrive in three to four weeks. Once this ambulance arrives, Tri-County EMS will have four ambulances in its fleet.
