Hello angers from everywhere! I love photos of youngsters reeling in something large. That’s how it is for kids you know—being excited about that “something” on their line. They love the mystery of fishing! It’s what fishing is supposed to be!
Fishing is still the thing to do in Otter Tail County. The large sunfish are feeding throughout the county and continue to hang off of weed edges near flats in mid-depth areas. Crappies have been more difficult to find, they have suddenly abandoned their easy summer time weed-top pattern and are finding greener pastures in fall-type patterns. Northern pike are ganging up around schools of sunfish and perch on deep weed lines. Walleye fishing continues to be strong around the county—night crawlers and leeches and red tails are strong bets.
Get out and keep enjoying Otter Tail Lake Country’s summer fishing, the season is growing shorter. Soon we’ll be wearing jackets and stocking hats—keep on the water and keep fishing.
