Summer Fishing in Otter Tail Lakes Country

Summer is here and the fishing is great in lakes country. The bluegills are in peak spawn. Look for beds that look like moon craters on your side imaging. Remember with great fishing comes great responsibility so release those gills over 9″ to keep the great genetics in our lakes. The crappie spawn is over and the fish are a little spread out. Look for better crappie fishing as those fish begin to start setting up in weeds and on weed edges in the coming weeks. Lots of largemouth bass still on beds. Baits like ned rigs and Texas rigged stick worms have been putting up big numbers in shallow water.
The pike are also active and aggressive in the shallows. The walleyes have moved out a little deeper in this heat, the night crawler bite has also picked up. Its a great time to be an angler in lakes country.

Good luck fishing. http://www.facebook.com/SlabSeekerFishing
