Star Lake is located in NW Otter Tail County, MN about 3.5 miles west of Dent. Star Lake is roughly 4,500 acres and has a maximum depth of 94 feet. There are two public accesses on Star Lake. One is on the east side of the lake off Beaver Dam Rd. The other access is on the north end of the lake right off MN HWY 108. Star Lake is known for it’s unique features. This picture doesn’t do the lake justice. There are islands, peninsulas and large shallow bays/marshy areas. Star is a fantastic fishing lake. Species include; crappie, bluegill, largemouth bass, walleye, northern pike, tullibee, burbot & more. Check your regulation books as there are some special limits on Star Lake. Maplewood State Park is just 10 miles west of Star Lake. There are plenty of places to eat/sleep/shop nearby.
