Tri-County Health Care raises funds for patients, local causes
Auxiliary raises record $13,200 at Holiday Auction
In November, Tri-County Health Care hosted several initiatives and events to raise money for local causes as well as equipment for patients.
Employee Voice Give Week
From November 12-16, the Tri-County Health Care Employee Voice committee held Give from the Heart Week, inviting staff and community members to give to various causes throughout the week. They gathered 122 pounds of food and cash to be donated to local food shelves throughout the three-county area and raised $367 for the American Diabetes Association. They also raised $4,114 for the respiratory therapy department to purchase two Precision Flow Plus devices to help patients who need oxygen therapy and support. Finally, they brought in $1,137.50 to support Adopt-A-Family to help families in need in the Tri-County service area buy gifts and supplies for the holidays.
Auxiliary Holiday Auction
On Nov. 27, the Tri-County Auxiliary held its annual Holiday Auction at Whitetail Run Golf Course in Wadena. More than 70 baskets and 25 silent auction items were donated by community members and Tri-County departments. The evening included appetizers, live auction and silent auction, which was enjoyed by 80 guests. The Auxiliary raised a record $13,200.
All funds raised are used to fulfill Auxiliary Wish List grants in which Tri-County departments apply for technology, equipment or other resources that will improve patients’ health and comfort. Last year’s proceeds helped to purchase a new rocking chair for the nursery, a treadmill for the Bertha Area Wellness Center, fresh clothes for patients in the emergency room, a computer monitor to update families on the status of surgery patients and more.
The Auxiliary consists of women and men who support Tri-County with fundraising through scholarships, plant and bake sales, Holiday Auction, department wish lists and more. Meetings are held September through April at Tri-County Health Care in Wadena. Karen Crandall and Cindy Hockert are the current Auxiliary co-chairs.
