Kaddatz Announces Children’s Spring Art Programs
FERGUS FALLS, MN – Children can learn use of color, clay figurine molding, 3-D design and light and shadow during a series of Saturday classes in April offered by the Kaddatz Galleries.
“These are the types of experiences that enrich our lives,” said Amanda Cross, interim curator and education coordinator for the gallery. Students learn to express themselves and appreciate the expression of others while gaining skills and another way to interpret the world around them, she added.
The classes are designed for children in kindergarten through third grade and are set from 10 a.m.-noon. Cost is $15 per session or $50 for all four.
- Color Mood Painting: On April 1, Sara Ronnevik will teach students about color schemes and how to use them communicate different moods, temperatures and emotions in their paintings.
- Clay Figurines: On April 8, Amanda Cross will teach students how to mold human or animal figurines using additive, subtractive and the pinch and pull sculptural methods.
- 3-D Design: On April 22, Naomi Schliesman will teach students about the importance of texture, line and color in creating a 3-D object exploring design.
- Light and Shadows: On April 29, Jean Wiersma will explore the effects of light and shadow through a variety of techniques including drawing, stenciling and creating mosaics.
