Full orthopedic program, total joint replacements
With the full-time addition of orthopedic surgeon Ben Robertson, M.D., to the Tri-County Health Care team, the organization now offers a full spectrum of orthopedic services through the program Tri Orthopedics. This service line includes total joint replacements for knees, hips and shoulders to be performed at the hospital in Wadena. Other services include:
- Carpal tunnel release
- Ganglion cyst removal
- Bunion and hammertoe corrections
- Rotator cuff repair
- ACL reconstruction
- Arthroscopy procedures
- Fracture care
- Osteoarthritis care
- Repetitive use/sports injuries
Robertson and his Tri Orthopedics team use a patient-centered team-based approach to serve patients’ needs. Other team members include Lorinda Zigan, PA-C, who will guide patients through their experience with hands-on care; Medley Shamp, RN, joint care coordinator, who will provide patients with education and support; Tri Rehab Services; nursing; and more.
Robertson was previously a partner at Northern Orthopedics in Brainerd for 12 years and a visiting specialist at Tri-County for more than 10 years. He is board certified through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Oslo in Norway. He is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
