The Fish Are Biting!
Hello fishermen!
Things are hopping in Otter Tail Lakes Country! Walleye, northern, and panfish are on the go. If you’re going walleye fishing this week in Otter Tail County, and don’t get any bites for a couple of hours—you need to move. The fish ARE biting somewhere!! The shiners are still in tight to the shorelines and the walleye are with them (on many lakes), and on others. The shiners are finished spawning and the walleye are moving back to the weed-line and deeper water—northern too! With water temps in the low 60’s across the county, it’s certainly a time of transition, so make sure to bring minnows, crawlers, and leeches with—to make sure you’re covered.
If you’re not getting bites and need to change lakes, remember to drain your live wells and pull your drain plugs. Get the weeds and water off your boat and help control the spread of AIS! Otter Tail County thanks you! Good luck fishing Otter Tail Lakes Country this week.
