We’re looking for images that depict Battle Lake and this local region through time of day\, place\, nature\, and people. How you interpret that is where your photographic prowess comes into play. \nWhether it’s a half hour or half a day\, the amount of time you spend on this is up to you. However\, in order to gather a thorough picture of Battle Lake\, we hope to receive images from different times of the day and from a variety of locations. \nTo do so\, we ask that you give us your best guess on when and where you expect to be available that day. By early June we will send more information about the event and on how to submit images. We look forward to seeing your results.

Young artists will explore making puppets from common household materials\, assemble a swooping dragon\, decorate a treasure chest\, craft additional simple puppets\, and create a painted backdrop for their creations. This playful class encourages imagination\, storytelling\, and creative problem-solving. \nGrades 5–8 Inspired by Minnesota: Pottery & Sculpture Adventure Instructor: Blayze Buseth 🕐 1 PM–4 PM 📍 Creation Shop 💵 $150 \nThis hands-on\, story-driven workshop invites students to explore Minnesota’s artistic and natural landscape through clay. SUMMARY:Perham Turtle Races
DESCRIPTION:Fun-filled family event every Wednesday in June-July-August! \nRegistration starts at 10am – races start at 10:30am Perham\, the home of International Turtle Races since 1979\, has an exciting carnival atmosphere\, with face painting\, snacks\, trolley rides\, and a variety of vendors! \nJoin us for a chance to be a race champion! Champions will take home a bag full of goodies from local businesses\, commemorative ribbon and bragging rights! \nPainted Turtles are collected from area ponds\, rivers and other bodies of water and are marked based on the location they came from to ensure they return to their home at the end of the summer. \nDuring each summer\, turtles are cared for by trained and knowledgeable volunteers. Their summer home is large and imitates their natural habitat. With shaded pools for swimming\, rocks and logs for basking in the sun and live minnows to hunt as well as other veterinarian approved turtle food. \nDue to concerns for fairness of races and safety of our racers and the other turtles\, only Painted Turtle species will be allowed to race. We will have turtles available at each race\, but racers are welcome to bring their own\, as long as they are Painted Turtles.
