DESCRIPTION:Gather your team and get ready to pull for a great cause! Join us for the Ambulance Pull Fundraiser during Wadena’s June Jubilee on Saturday\, June 13\, at The Depot in Wadena. The event begins at 7:30 p.m. Teams of four will compete to see who can pull an ambulance the fastest. \nProceeds from the event will support the Astera Health EMS team\, which provides a critical service across our region. Each year\, Astera Health EMS responds to 2\,000-2\,500 calls for service and maintains two fully staffed ALS ambulances 24/7\, with at least two paramedics on duty at all times. \nTheir service area covers more than 800 square miles\, helping ensure emergency care is available when our communities need it most. \nYou don’t choose when emergencies happen\, but Astera Health EMS is there when needed. Come out\, support this lifesaving team\, and enjoy a fun night during June Jubilee!

DESCRIPTION:Fun-filled family event every Wednesday in June-July-August! \nRegistration starts at 10am – races start at 10:30am Perham\, the home of International Turtle Races since 1979\, has an exciting carnival atmosphere\, with face painting\, snacks\, trolley rides\, and a variety of vendors! \nJoin us for a chance to be a race champion! Champions will take home a bag full of goodies from local businesses\, commemorative ribbon and bragging rights! \nPainted Turtles are collected from area ponds\, rivers and other bodies of water and are marked based on the location they came from to ensure they return to their home at the end of the summer. \nDuring each summer\, turtles are cared for by trained and knowledgeable volunteers. Their summer home is large and imitates their natural habitat. With shaded pools for swimming\, rocks and logs for basking in the sun and live minnows to hunt as well as other veterinarian approved turtle food. \nDue to concerns for fairness of races and safety of our racers and the other turtles\, only Painted Turtle species will be allowed to race. We will have turtles available at each race\, but racers are welcome to bring their own\, as long as they are Painted Turtles.
