A Celebration of Women
This event, organized by Otter Tail County Indivisible and the National Organization For Women – Fergus Falls Chapter, is taking place to celebrate three major events:
- The historic Women’s March of Jan. 19, 2017
- The 2018 election of a record number of women to office
- The 19th amendment, passed by Congress on June 4, 1919 and ratified on August 18, 1920, granting women the right to vote
PROGRAM:
Meet a famous suffragette as she protests for the women’s right to vote.
Listen to local women share their experiences in politics and government
Including Virginia Portmann, former member of F. F. City Council & OTC Commissioner and Mike Donoho, son of former F. F. Mayor Barb Donoho, Maryjane Westra, former candidate, Women’s March participant & super volunteer, Mavis Flemmer, supporter of several current issues via many organizations. Q&A and discussion.
